MY OPINION :

pros

The author have used Indian English in our style which i felt bit different. The story flow was good. The feeling of Gopal who failed in the entrance exam when his friend Raghav got through JEE and AIEEE was expressed in a very touchy way as i realized how it'll be if someone couldn't reach the height which i did inspite of their dedication. Gopal's multi-dimensional problems viz. his father's health, poverty, failure in getting through the entrance, his one side love for Aarti made me feel pity for him. Especially his 1 year stay in Kota was incredible. The way he was disturbed by Aarti, his new place stay was very natural.

Varanasi was given a good picture as i came to know many stuffs about it. The lines... "People around the world leave their sins in Varanasi and who will clean Varanasi?" made me to think. Corruption done by politicials also played a part in this book. Parent's carelessness about their children's aim was well said and Raghav's passion to create revolution  and his work towards it was good. Inspite of all odds in an unfair society, he fought against it.

The character Aarti was mesmerising. The author have almost neared the girl's instinct. The way she confused Gopal by her behaviour seemed natural. It was incredibly said how a girl's decision will oscillate and at what point. The author have tried to tell that a girl look out for a successful man which i feel was 70% true.

One of the best thing in this book is that it doesn't portray any character as a villain. The author have beautifully expressed how the happenings are viewed in each characters' perspective and how the behaviour of one character affects the other.

cons

After all the above positive stuffs, the author have missed the continuity of some characters like Sunil. He should have told what made Aarti go crazy on Raghav. The intro of Gopal to the politician seemed unusual for me and i feel the author should have completed the climax expressing correctly for what Gopal did the stupid thing...

Hope this review helped u! Bear with me if this blog is not satisfactory since this is my first blog regarding book review :-) and i'm sure i'll develop my writing further... Stay tuned till i complete my next book ;-)
